Biography
Chemagne Martin has been hypnotized with Bellydance since 1999. She
is a proud member of the Toronto Bellydance Collective and Roula
Said’s innovative and hip dance troupe the Roulettes. As a
soloist, Chemagne has delighted and impressed audiences with her
stunning performances at parties, weddings, and special events. She
has danced at Oasis Lounge, Caliban Arts Theatre, Canadia Deli Arte
Studios, Rivioli Nightclub, and Michezo African Festival at Wards
Island. As a devoted student of this beautiful dance form,
Chemagne’s bellydance training comes from many recognized dance
teachers, such as Roula Said, Tahia Sassine, Yazmina Ramzy, Mayada,
Denise Mireau and Badia Star. She has also learned from bellydance
artists from abroad, including Rachel Brice from San Fransico, Elena
Lentini from New York, and Jujuka from New York.
Chemagne’s unique dance background includes West African dance,
congolese and soukous, East African Ethiopian dance, eskista, Latin
dance, salsa, meringue, and batchata, jazz and modern dance,
Classical Indian, Oddissi.
Chemagne performs regularly with the Roulettes and Nouvel Expose
Dance Troupe. She does kundalini yoga, hatha yoga, and pilates, and
is a respected part-time kundalini yoga and bellydance instructor.
Chemagne is a Fashion Stylist and Designer, and enjoys working as a
background performer in films and television.
Chemagne is available for performances at festivals, weddings, film,
television, bridal parties, theme parties and special events.
