For Janet L. Castillo, dancing started off as a hobby, transformed into a burning passion, and now Janet uses the form of dance as an inspiration for change. As a multi-talented dancer, choreographer, instructor, and entrepreneur, Janet owes her whole being and passion for life to the world of dance and performance.

As a child and teenager, Janet was quite shy but it was on the stage where she expressed herself loudly. With numerous performances and appearances to date, she easily balanced dance and her studies. She attended York University double majoring in Mass Communications and Sociology while also maintaining the role of Captain for the York University Danz team. Upon Graduation, she was compelled to attain a higher-level of training and desired to pursue her true passion on a full-time basis. After getting accepted into an Internship program at the NYC Broadway Dance Center where she trained intensely and gained inspiration from the industry's top choreographers, Janet hasn't looked back.

She began dancing/choreographing for Canadian Idol ‘Gary Beals’, KUYA, and Jenna G. Out of hundreds; she was one of the three choreographers to compete on the reality TV show "Making it Big”. Although not taking the winner’s prize home, the show led her to making the big move to Los Angeles, California. Through continued hard work, faith, and determination, she has succeeded in working with ‘Best Kept Secret’ on projects with Jennifer Lopez, Christina Milian, JOJO, American Idol "Jasmine Trias", the Latin Grammy’s, the Jammx Kids All Star Dance Special (Featuring Queen Latifah, Rihanna, Natasha Bedingfield, Randy Jackson), and more much.

Always up for challenges and new experiences, Janet auditioned for a role in the urban musical “You Don’t Know Me” co-produced by Cedric the Entertainer and music by R&B group “City High”. Along with singing and acting in the show, she immediately became dance captain of their American tour. When the show closed, Janet competed and appeared on Season 3’s “So you think you can dance” as a Las Vegas finalist. A few months later while shooting a commercial with hip hop legend Kurtis Blow, she fractured her arm badly and was unable to dance for several months. In her time off, she has teamed up with fellow Canadian dancer/instructor ‘Natasha Powell’ to create and produce “Catalyst Bootcamp”, a new training program for aspiring performance artists.
From closed-down shows, to broken bones, to getting booted off reality shows, to hearing people say she wouldn’t make it including the little voice in her head; Janet perseveres and always fight back with her mind and movement. As a positive role model, she is on an endless mission to develop and share her talent and knowledge with performers around the world. Living by her motto “Anything is possible…if you just BELIEVE”, Janet L. Castillo remains fearless in living her dreams and aspires others to believe in theirs too
